Robert Bruce Kemp
December 2, 1944 to November 12, 2010
Bob was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, the fifth of seven children of William Paul and Janet Hoag Kemp. Bob was among the first graduating class Christian Brothers Academy’s Class of ‘63. Bob attended Seton Hall University in pre-dentistry. He received a BA in Business from Monmouth University.

Bob was admired for his strong faith in God. He was gratious, courteous, engaging and intelligent. He was an avid fan of gourmet food, fine wine and classic rock. Bob enjoyed sports and was an outstanding swimmer and set several state and national amateur records in the backstroke. He enjoied and was competitive in biking, skiing, tennis and golf; he even sponsored a young golf pro on the PGA, biked over the Rocky Mountians for the MS 150 Bike Tour and was a volunteer fireman.

Bob was preceded in death by his bothers Bill Kemp of Chester, CA and Ret Capt Jerry Kemp USCG of Atlanta, GA. He is survived by his sisters: Carrol Florkiewicz, Rangeley, ME; Joyce Tomaino, Eatentown, NJ; Susan Osgoodby, Sea Bright, NJ; his brother Jim Kemp, San Deigo, Ca; daughters Samantha Fontanella, Lindsay Kemp and Megan Neil; and grandchildren Jennifer, Jack, Jaime and Julia Fontanella.

A memorial mass will be held for Bob at 10:00 a.m. on November 20, 2010 at the Church of Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Ave, Monmouth Beach.
The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be directed to your favorite charity.
