Last week, we announced our HUGE goal for this year…. Collect & Give Away 11 Million pairs of shoes in one year. Lots of you joined in to help spread the word to all your friends.

This week, we’ll be rolling out some unique ways for you to join us in this campaign. To start things off, we’re sharing one of the most exciting projects of the year: ONE WALK.

Our hope is that thousands of you will join us on May 14th to raise awareness & support for the 300 million children around the world that have never owned a pair of shoes. Registering or starting a team is simple. Here’s the What, Who, Where, When, How….

What is the One Walk? 

On May 14, 2011, we are rallying people across the country to walk or run for children in need around the world. You can walk on your own, with a team or start your own team for the OneWalk mission. 100% net revenue from the registration fee is dedicated to helping deliver shoes to one of the 300 million children and untold adults around the world without shoes. Every dollar raised provides one pair of shoes.

How does it work? 

OneWalk is your walk: you decide where; you decide how long. Invite friends and start a team, get co-workers together or just hit the road by yourself, it doesn’t matter, it’s all for the shoes anyways!

How do I get started?

Individuals: Decide where and how long you want to walk for. Let us know you are on board by visiting our Facebook tab and write on our wall. You’ receive a registration package with a custom t-shirt and other gift in the mail 3 weeks prior to walk day. Individual registration is $25.

Teams: If you want to start a team, follow this link to our fundraising site. Set up a fundraising page with your team name and encourage friends, family and co-workers to register on your team page. A minimum donation of $25 will be required by each of your team members to be registered. As a Team Leader, you will receive a custom t-shirt and all registrants will receive the standard t-shirt. All registrants will receive a complete registration package.

Think about it, by getting 3 of your friends to join you, you are providing 100 pairs of shoes to kids around the world.

We’re really excited about this event & hope that you will join us. Whether you walk 1 mile or 100 miles, every step you take is helping give hope with the gift of shoes.

Let me know if you are interested in joining my team. I am doing it and I am going to ask my co-workers to do it as well. The bigger the team the more shoes we will donate.
