Farmers Markets

In order to eat healthy and organic one of the steps you will want to take as a consumer is to purchase your produce from local farmers markets. This allows you to talk with the different growers as to what is in season as well as support your local growers and get fresh produce. Here is a link for those of you who are residents of CA that will give you a detailed list of where the farmers markets are at and what days you can stop by.

Remember it is always best to buy what is IN SEASON. You can also purchase what is in season ans freeze it for later. This will not take away from the nutrients.

However, steaming your vegetables does not away the nutrients in your produce so make sure you save the "green" water that you steam the vegetables in and add it to your morning shake or smoothie. This will give you extra nutrients in your morning fuel.

I have included a link that provides detailed information about produce and what's in season and how to store this products.
